Ph.D. Candidate in Economics

Department of Economics, Purdue University

Hao Li is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at Purdue University, specializing in Public and Health Economics. His research applies causal inference methods—including Regression Discontinuity, Regression Kink, and Difference-in-Differences designs—to large-scale microdata, with the goal of understanding how social insurance programs reshape household decisions, health outcomes, and intergenerational financial transfers.

Current projects examine the family spillovers of Social Security survivor benefits, the health effects of income support, and the Affordable Care Act's dependent coverage provision. He holds an M.S. in Economics from Purdue (2023) and a B.S. in Insurance from Shandong University of Finance and Economics.
